The initial objective of the Wells of Hope Group was not only to start an organization that would help the poor but also to be the avenue through which people could actively become involved in reaching out to our less fortunate sisters and brothers in a very intimate way.
As a result, volunteers are always welcome. Wells of Hope works with potential volunteers to help them discern where and how their specific gifts can best be used.
With so many community projects on the go, it is never difficult to find an area where a Wells of Hope volunteer can make a significant and fulfilling contribution to serving those in need.

A volunteer who chooses to go to Guatemala is asked to make a minimum commitment of ten days. For those who wish, a longer volunteer opportunity can also be arranged. The experience of working with the poor is both challenging and uplifting. Often, the person, family, or group of people who make the commitment to work for a time amongst the poor, find the experience more powerful than they could ever have imagined, and come away feeling that they received more than they gave.

For many volunteers, the time spent with the poor is an experience leading to further discernment.
How is each volunteer called to continue to improve the quality of life for our less fortunate brothers and sisters?
