PACKS OF HOPE
Faith in Action Campaign
School Coordinator Info-Pack
Thank you for taking on this important role of energizing and
administrating the Packs of Hope: Faith in Action Campaign. We
hope to have tremendous support for this year’s campaign, with as
many area schools and organizations involved as possible.
What is Pack of Hope – Faith in Action Campaign?
The campaign will attempt to provide packs for 3,000 children in the poor rural villages of
Jalapa, Guatemala. The backpacks are to be filled by students and their families with
recommended items listed on the student letter. For students, we suggest that the packs also
contain a personal note from the student to the child receiving the gift.
OUR SUPPORT TO YOU:
This info-pack contains a number of materials and website links to support the campaign and to
help ensure its success within your school:
Student Letter:
The letter outlines exactly what is to be done and what items we suggest
students and their families should give. We are grateful if schools are
able to make copies of the student letter as this helps us with keeping
costs low.
Poster:
A poster is included which can be printed out and posted in classrooms
and school entrances.
Website:
The website outlines the work of Wells of Hope, along with some
information regarding the Packs of Hope campaign listed under “Mission
Projects” section:

DATES AND TIMELINES:
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Any additional empty backpacks for donation would be greatly appreciated. We do
have some if needed.
- We are asking for a toonie ($2) to help defray some of the shipping costs. Please collect
all the toonies from your class into a single envelope. School Coordinators are asked to
then collect all the shipping donations into a single envelope donation from their school.
- Teachers are asked to review the list of recommended items, found on the student
letter, with their class. Please stress the need for student supplies and warm clothing.
- We realize that not every student is able to make a donation. Therefore, teachers may
want to partner students together to work as a team to complete a backpack.
